It's stupid to give up, isn't it?
For traditional media it is kindda hard to find the right scaning options. Bu you go to files--> import images --> and the type of your scanner should be there. Then go to advanced mode, andplay with contrast, brightness, and especially those options that are called "correction" (mine has back light correction, grain correction and a bunch of other stuff which ruins the picture if it is set wrong). If it doesn't work out for you (you have a mean version of scanner software) then in photoshop you can adjust the colors which you don't like. I hope I helped.
And of course the picture is pretty, otherwise it wouldn't have gotten a fav.
